Candidate Terms

Last updated: April 26, 2026 · Version: 1.2

Hello,

You have been invited by a company (« the Recruiter ») to take part in a video interview through PreHire. This document explains the rules for using the platform.

PreHire is a tool made available to companies to facilitate their interviews. You do not need to create an account or pay anything to use PreHire. It is entirely free for you.

For how your personal data is processed, see the Candidate Information Notice.

1. Who publishes PreHire?

REACH TECHNOLOGIES SAS
1 rue du Quai, 59800 Lille, France
Email: support@pre-hire.com
Phone: +33 9 80 40 06 22

2. What is PreHire for?

PreHire lets companies run asynchronous video interviews. In practice:

  • You receive an email invitation from the recruiting company;
  • You click a link that takes you to the PreHire platform;
  • You answer a few questions by recording short videos (usually less than a minute per answer);
  • Your answers are sent to the Recruiter, who reviews them.

You can do this whenever you want, from your computer or your smartphone.

3. The role of artificial intelligence

PreHire uses artificial intelligence to help the Recruiter organize and review applications faster. This assistance is limited to:

  • reading and structuring the information contained in your CV;
  • transcribing your video answers into text;
  • presenting the Recruiter with an organized view of these elements.

The Recruiter makes all decisions concerning your application. The AI never decides in their place.

The artificial intelligence models used by PreHire are hosted exclusively within the European Union.

Review without AI: if you wish, you can request that your application be reviewed without algorithmic assistance. To exercise this right, contact the recruiting company at the details provided in your invitation, or write to privacy@pre-hire.com.

4. Conditions for using PreHire

To use PreHire, you must:

  • be of legal age or have your legal guardian's authorization;
  • have a device with a camera and a microphone;
  • have an internet connection;
  • use an up-to-date browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge in their current versions).

PreHire is free for you. You will never be asked for any banking information.

5. Your commitments

By using PreHire, you undertake to:

  • answer the questions asked personally;
  • not have a third party stand in for you or assist you in a visible or audible way during the recording;
  • not use tools that simulate a human presence (deepfakes, synthetic voices, etc.);
  • not make any statement contrary to the law (in particular inciting hatred, violence, or discrimination);
  • not infringe the rights of a third party (insults, defamation, invasion of privacy).

6. Your freedom to participate

Your participation in a PreHire video interview is free. You may:

  • choose not to take part (this may affect the handling of your application, but that consequence rests solely with the Recruiter);
  • pause your interview at any time and resume it later as long as the session is open;
  • re-record an answer before validating it definitively.

If you decline the video interview and would like an alternative pre-selection method, contact the recruiting company directly.

Participation in the video interview is voluntary. You acknowledge that recording and completing your interview does not guarantee that it will be reviewed by the recruiting company, nor any follow-up on your application.

7. Video recording

7.1 How the recording works

The recording uses your device's camera and microphone. It starts only after you have clicked « Start recording » and granted access to the devices in your browser. The recording stops automatically when the allotted time ends, or manually if you click « Stop ».

7.2 Validation

Before validating, you can usually watch your answer and re-record it if you wish. Once validated, the answer is sent to the Recruiter.

7.3 Recording environment

Choose a suitable environment (lighting, quiet). PreHire neither processes nor analyzes your background. No analysis of facial expression, tone of voice, or emotion is performed.

8. Ownership of your answers

You retain the rights over the videos you record.

You grant the recruiting company (and PreHire, solely for the technical needs of the service) a strictly limited authorization to use them:

  • for the duration of the recruitment process;
  • by authorized people within the recruiting company;
  • for the purposes of evaluating your application.

Your videos are:

  • never published on the internet;
  • never used for advertising or marketing purposes;
  • never used to train artificial intelligence models.

9. Retention period

The retention of your data is decided by the recruiting company, in its capacity as data controller.

By default, PreHire applies a configuration consistent with the CNIL's recommendations: automatic deletion no later than two (2) years after the last contact between you and the company, unless the Recruiter sets a specific configuration that it must be able to justify.

You can request the deletion of your data at any time: see section 11.

10. Service availability

PreHire does its utmost to keep the service continuously available. Nevertheless, interruptions may occur (maintenance, incidents, security operations).

If you experience a technical problem during your interview:

  • refresh the page and reconnect via your invitation link;
  • if the problem persists, contact support@pre-hire.com, mentioning the recruiting company.

11. Your rights over your personal data

You have rights over your data (access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction, portability, withdrawal of consent). The controller of your data is the recruiting company.

  • First: contact the recruiting company at the details provided in your invitation;
  • Second: write to privacy@pre-hire.com – PreHire will direct you to the right contact, or may exercise the right directly if the company does not respond within a reasonable time.

For the full details of your rights, see the Candidate Information Notice. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL: www.cnil.fr.

12. Security of your data

PreHire implements technical measures to protect your data:

  • encryption of communications via TLS;
  • encryption at rest of videos and transcriptions;
  • access strictly limited to authorized people within the recruiting company and to PreHire's technical teams, who are bound by a confidentiality obligation.

13. Reporting a problem

  • Technical problem: support@pre-hire.com
  • Privacy problem: privacy@pre-hire.com
  • Reporting abusive behavior by a Recruiter: abuse@pre-hire.com

14. Changes

PreHire may update these Terms. The version that applies to your interview is the one available at the time you access it. The date of the last update appears at the top of the document.

15. Applicable law

These Terms are governed by French law.

In the event of a dispute, and after attempting an amicable resolution, you may bring the matter before the competent courts of your place of residence or those of Lille (France).
